Mission
The Institute of Social Sciences aims to provide postgraduate education and training services at a universal level for our postgraduate students by adopting continuous development as a principle and goal, and to increase student and employee satisfaction. Our institute also adheres to Atatürk's Principles and Reforms, ensuring the structuring, execution, and development of postgraduate education and research activities at all levels of education and training, contributing to the accumulation of universal knowledge at national and international levels, and aims to train academic staff.

Our vision is to be among the top institutes operating in the field of social sciences. The Institute of Social Sciences continues its educational activities with postgraduate programs in different disciplines and fields, training postgraduate students with the qualities and quantities required by the age, each with its own unique values. Adhering to Atatürk's Principles and Reforms, it ensures the structuring, execution, and development of postgraduate education and research activities at all levels of education and training, contributing to the accumulation of universal knowledge at national and international levels, and also aims to train academic staff.
Values and Goals
Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Institute of Social Sciences serves as a pioneering unit that conducts original, creative, enlightening, and quality-of-life-enhancing research for humanity under the guidance of science, directs national and international education policies, and adopts a total quality and transparent management approach. For this purpose, it is aimed to update the courses and contents of the postgraduate programs within the institute, taking into account the conditions required by the age, to evaluate the educational outputs, and to transform postgraduate theses into projects, publications, and useful models to offer solutions to regional, national, and international education problems through scientific research and development activities.
Our Institute
Our institute was established with the decision of the Higher Education Council dated 17.3.2006, with the goals of providing postgraduate education and training services at a universal level for our postgraduate students by adopting continuous development as a principle and goal, increasing student and employee satisfaction, and being among the top institutes operating in the field of social sciences. As of today, it continues its education and training activities with a total of 47 postgraduate programs, including 12 Doctorate Programs, 28 Thesis Master's Programs, and 7 Non-Thesis Master's Programs, under 27 Departments.
